With my first it was just being uncomfortable the entire night and not being able to fall asleep. I don't think I remember falling asleep at all that last month with my first son. With my second son, it was the inability to sleep in different positions, I really could only sleep on my left side, which wound up being extremely annoying, and causing some serious aches and pains come morning. (& the dreams with my last one, I can't remember having such vivid or scary dreams, they are right, you do have some of the most interesting dreams when pregnant)
Being awake for an hour or so each night between 2 and 4 AM. It's not even discomfort for me, usually, it's the racing mind. I think the hormones cause it... The whole time you're thinking "pretty soon I'm going to be up for a good reason - my crying infant - and now, when I could be sleeping soundly, I'm awake!" So irritating.
1. Create a sleep inducing "sleep environment": dark room, cool, white noise of some sort 2. Create a consistent sleep schedule. 3. Make sure your children get an age appropriate amount of sleep. 4. Limit things that may hinder sleep: caffeine, sugar, tv/video games 5. Have a simple, attainable bedtime routine
-Infants: Swaddle -Infants: Don't let them get overtired- they will probably only have 1-2 hours between sleep
